Dr. Mario Capanzana, PCFMI Executive Director, Speaks at ECCP Nutrition Forum
Manila, Philippines — Dr. Mario Capanzana, Executive Director of the Philippine Chamber of Food Manufacturers, Inc. (PCFMI), served as one of the speakers at the ECCP Nutrition Forum with the theme “2025 Nutrition Forum Feeding the Future: Nutrition, Cognition and Consumer Education” held on July 24, 2025, at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City.
In his talk, Dr. Capanzana emphasized the importance of functional ingredients in pre-packed foods and their critical role in the food supply chain. He underscored how these products support the delivery of balanced nutrition for Filipino families, particularly in emergency situations and in addressing the needs of today’s modern, fast-paced lifestyles. He recommended strengthening consumer education towards healthy and well-nourished Filipinos.
The forum, hosted by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), gathered local and international experts as part of the panel, including the newly appointed Director General of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It was also attended by various industry stakeholders, including PCFMI Chairman and President and members of the PCFMI Board of Directors.
Dr. Capanzana’s participation reflects PCFMI’s strong commitment to advancing food and nutrition security in the Philippines through science-based and functional food solutions.

PCFMI joins PCCI’s Roundtable Consultative Dialogue with Industry Associations
PCFMI was honored to participate in the Roundtable Consultative Dialogue hosted by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) last 20 August 2025 at Dusit Hotel, Makati City, represented by PCFMI Director and RSA Co-Chairperson, Ms. Madel Perez.
The dialogue served as a platform for PCCI to present its programs and services, while also gathering valuable insights on the industry's pressing challenges, concerns, and recommendations requiring urgent attention. The collective output will be consolidated into PCCI’s policy recommendations for the upcoming 51st Philippine Business Conference and Expo this October 2025.
We appreciate the opportunity to engage in open, collaborative discussions that help shape the future of the industry.

Dr. Capanzana delivered his insights during Technical Session 6: Empowering Stakeholders and Strengthening Multi-Sectoral Collaborations for Nutrition, focusing on “Private Sector Initiatives and Collaboration in Promoting Holistic Nutrition.”
